After their drivers getting sued in Portland and now this I'm super glad I didn't take a job with them.

Are you ruddy kidding me. Their Twitter post:

"We are all concerned with events in CBD. Fares have increased to encourage more drivers to come online & pick up passengers in the area. "

What blatant bull5h1t. Read 'we've seen where we can price goudge our customers'.

They should be limited to a fare system like taxis are, possibly higher to make it a more, for better choice of words, 'elite' or 'prestige' service. Where I live we have 'day rate', 'night rate', 'weekend rate' and 'bank holiday rate' for taxis. The most expensive being bank holiday rate but that is merely an extra couple of pounds on a £10 journey.

The NSW government is this close to shutting them down. By our laws they're operating an illegal taxi service.

It might be fun to start calling the drivers to stop out the front of police stations so they can be fined the $100,000.

I can't understand how it could be legal anywhere. If they want to run a limo/chauffeur service then fine or if they want to run a taxi service then fine but there are regulations for both and you can't get around them by saying we a limo/chauffeur service run like a taxi service (but we reserve the right to charge you limo/chauffeur service rates if you believe your life may be in danger).

Yeah, I'm surprised they're operating when their drivers will, and do get fined.

I don't want to give my opinion on this cause everyone is going to hate me

But I will say that I hope the hostages are not harmed. This is obviously a sketchy situation and I hope that the innocent people get out alive.

They're now offering free transport to customers with drivers being paid surge pricing, and Über picking up the tab.

So fair dues to them for reacting fast to a massive PR fuckup. But Jeez, how can you not see that's a PR fuckup in the making? Automated pricing, maybe?

They could be giving out free ice cream and hand jobs to everyone. I still think the company should be burned to the ground.

Hey don't get me wrong, I'm not arguing that they're not assholes. Just giving them points for being fast to spot when they've screwed the pooch by being assholes. Again

Yeah, no points from me. They've shown time and time again that they're assholes, they could drive a dump truck of money to my front door and I'd still tell them to get fucked.
